Hiring a remote worker in the Philippines

Full-time at the minimum comes to about ₱16,421 ($262) a month. What remote staff charge is on the country guide.

Minimum wage law covers employees working for employers in that country. A remote contractor who works for a business abroad usually isn't covered in the same way, so the floor is a reference point, not a pay rate to aim for: most remote roles pay well above it. This is general information, not legal or tax advice; check the official source or a local adviser for your case.

It depends on the region. Daily minimum wages run from ₱401 (agriculture in most of BARMM) to ₱755 (non-agriculture in Metro Manila), about $6.40 to $12.05 at the US Treasury rate for 30 Sep 2026. Each regional wage board sets its own rate in a wage order.

₱755 a day for non-agriculture work and ₱718 for agriculture, small retail and service firms and small manufacturers, under Wage Order NCR-28 from 26 Sep 2026. Wage Order NCR-27 also schedules ₱780 from 20 Jan 2027, but NWPC notes it's subject to continuing litigation.

At the minimum wage, the daily rate divided by 8 hours: ₱94.38 an hour in Metro Manila ($1.51) and ₱50.13 at the lowest regional rate. On average, PSA's 2022 wage survey found ₱18,423 a month for full-time workers in firms with 20 or more staff.

Rates are set per day. For a five-day, 40-hour week, ₱755 a day works out to about ₱16,421 a month ($262): the daily rate × 261 working days ÷ 12. That's our arithmetic, not an official monthly rate.

₱7,800 a month in Metro Manila under Wage Order NCR-DW-06, from 7 Feb 2026. Other regions set ₱5,500 to ₱7,500 a month.
