How these figures are compiled

Three different measures
Upwork figures are freelance hourly rates from contracts and profiles. The OnlineJobs.ph figures are full-time monthly salaries as Filipino workers report them. BLS figures are US employee wages before benefits and payroll taxes. They answer different questions, so don't add or average them.
Currency and units
Everything is in US dollars, as each source publishes it. Hourly rates are per hour worked; monthly pay is for a full-time month.
Gaps
Where a source publishes nothing for a role or country, the table says so instead of filling the gap. India's rate is Upwork's worldwide benchmark, because Upwork publishes no India-only figure.
How often we check
Every source was opened and checked in Oct 2026. We re-check each one every quarter; the next check is January 2027.
